Rote Flora, Hamburg

Apologies for the poor drum sound. I had to film it on my phone. An amazing club, very friendly and relaxed. The Rote Flora (Rotten flower?) is a meeting place/commune for counter culture in Hamburg. A decaying wreck of a building held up by spray paint, the site is prime real estate but the owner, the son of wealthy industrialists has refused to sell.

Hello Oliver,

my name is Philipp and we've meet while you was riding from Lübeck to Hamburg. I was on my training tour for my journey to france by bike (you made a photo of me).
I really like your photos and your writing. Especially that you've been at the "Rote Flora" is cool because its one of Hamburgs most alternative places. I startet some days after we've meet for my tour to france (12.8.). I also had to pass through the south area of Hamburg and had nearly the same problems that you had, especially when the cycle lanes vanished close to smaller cities.

Since last sunday I'm back in Germany. I didn't took so much time as you do to visit the cities and learn about cool places and the people. My focus was on travelling fast and far and I did make it right into the bretagne at the very west of france.

I've made some photos too and maybe you like to see my blog: http://www.philipp-jung.net

For a time we had the same route. Unfortunately at a different time.

To see all the photos of my tour you have to click on the "weiterlesen" link on my articles.

I will have a look at your blog again and hope you will find the time to answer or write a comment on my blog.

Luck and Success on your tour from Sweden to London!

Philipp
